Chilton Polden driving instructer plans to raise money for charity

A CHILTON Polden driving instructor has gone spotty for Children in Need.

“I am pleased to be taking part in the Children in Need Big Learner Relay this year,” said Nigel Steady.

“This is a 14-day event that involves driving instructors and their Students from across the UK raising money for Children in Need.”

The concept is to relay a top box, the kind driving instructors have on their cars, from one driving lesson to another, followed by a convoy of other driving school cars travelling around England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The relay starts in Northern Ireland on Monday and finishes in Swindon on Friday, November 13 – the night of Children in Need.

The main fundraising is being done by getting pupils, family and friends to ‘sponsor a spot’ on the cars and write a message on their spot.

Nigel will be leading the Street to Langport leg on Wednesday, November 11.

The relay will travel across Somerset from Bristol, via Shepton Mallet, Street, Langport, Taunton and Watchet.
